How can a tutor help?

Our social studies tutors work year-round. We offer tutoring geared toward current programming as well as summer tutoring to help students catch up or work ahead on enrichment material.

At the elementary level, social studies helps to inform students about the world we live in. At the Junior High level, Social studies requires memorization of facts, developing an understanding of the concepts and expressing them through writing. Many high school students struggle with certain areas of social studies. This area requires active inquiry, critical and creative thinking, understanding contemporary challenges for societal groups, memorizing facts, and expressing them through writing and speaking. Mastery of these skills requires extra help for these students.
